The Towers @ T5: seven giant LED screens at Heathrow

Terminal 5 is Heathrow's busiest terminal and its most international, with Scanlite citing up to 10 million passengers a year. LED specialist Scanlite designed and installed seven giant LED towers, each 14m by 7m, across landside and airside areas.

The towers had to work as one synchronised canvas with no visible lag, or carry separate campaigns for different advertisers, and every stage of the work had to fit the strict operational hours agreed with Heathrow.

Scanlite brought us in to supply the media players and the licensed playout platform that drive the towers.

It gives the screens one system for scheduling content: a single campaign running across all seven towers, or different creative on each.
